Can't really remember what I did for the past 1 week, spent most of my time on work, home and shopping ..

 

Met Fion and her hubby on Friday for dinner and had a nice chat..thanks to Fion for hearing my complaints about work.. sigh.. just too much sai to kio nowadays :P

really envy to see them having a common hobby.. they watch movie whenever they are free.. how i wish i can do that with AL .. but it is difficult due to our work schedules..

Maybe it is time for me to find something which both of us will like to do.. (except eating ) :P

 

went to swim for a while on Saturday morning with T, cheong to meiji sale at safra jurong to buy chocolates then had lunch at the Ishi mura there.. food was so so but we had a satisfactory meal :)

wanted to go hush puppies warehouse sale but we hadn't got enough time..

when i reached home.. i realised i didn't switch off my iron for one week. u know.. ONE WHOLE WEEK !! Since last Saturday!

my heart was beating very fast and i was really mad at myself for being so careless and forgetful.. what if it catches fire and burn our home down? sigh...must be more careful next time.

 

luckily the iron has thermostat so it doesn't allow the temp to go so high. some of my friends asked me what is the brand of the iron that can on for the whole week without switching off.. it is Tefal!! :D ok i will try to stick to this brand since it saved my life :)

 

Followed Father in law's family to bukit timah area this morning to pray at a temple cos it is AL's grandpa's 忌日.. ...their grandpa had passed away more than 30 yrs ago...it is really amazing to see how closely knitted this family is

 

had lunch with my sec sch classmates at york hotel this afternoon.... time really flies.. some of them are even married with kids and .really happy to know most of them are doing well

 

After lunch, I went over to Goodwood park hotel to help my sis and her bf buy durian mooncakes, they had been hunting everywhere for the durian mooncake but it was sold out when they reach the booths...furthermore, one customer is only entitled to buy one box , lucky me had a group of friends who volunteered to queue up for me so i was able to buy 3 boxes !  :)

 

Finally.. 3 more days to AL coming back.. I didn't know that i miss him so much until i keep mentioning about him during my sec sch gang gathering today.

Dad is going for a surgery tomorrow to remove a tumor found in his intestine..

due to my work commitment i can't be there with him at the hospital tomorrow.. lucky my siblings are taking leave and mum will be there too..

I had a great Saturday.

 

Went to attend shifu's Prince Gerard's full month celebration.

I feel so happy for shifu and his wife.. Even though it can be very tiring taking care of a new born baby, but you can just sense the joy within them when they look at their little baby :)

 

I chatted with some of the ex-acc girls, then after sometime we ended up playing Saboteur cards which I had brought along.

It's really a good and handy game for get-togethers like this. :D

 

Rushed down to colleague's house at Toa Payoh for steamboat dinner with my usual lunch gang.. but sotong me jumped onto the wrong bus and alighted at the wrong bus stop.. had to walk back and forth and troubled my colleague to fetch me.. by the time i reached his house I was sweating like mad.. lol

Enjoyed the steamboat dinner too :)

 

when i reached home it was already 11 plus.. then logged on to internet to check if AL is still online..

managed to take peek of him through webcam..

He looks burnt!! his whole face is charcoal black .. except the area around the eyes because he wore sunglasses during work.

 

well, maybe it's God's will that we have very different schedules and that he has to go for overseas assignment every year..

 

 

 

 

Once again, AL is leaving for overseas work assignment for a month. Things are going to be quiet at home.

Sian.... ever since we got married in Feb, he went overseas assignment twice, each lasted about a month.

To add on, we have very different working hours,  so we see each other on weekends mostly.

 

I had complained so many times ever since we got together, but there is nothing much he can do.

I don't like to be alone, so now i'm learning to adapt to this

 

Luckily my sis-in-law will be coming over to stay with me, otherwise I will go mad facing all walls every night.

 

Gonna miss his laughter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Half of August has past and I was feeling happy most of the time.

First, hubby treated me to a Japan Hokkaido trip from 27-Jul to 2-Aug as my advanced bday and his belated Bday celebration. (Even though he can claim the expense).

The trip was fantastic. we really enjoyed the tour company , sea food, icecreams , 泡温泉 and beautiful scenaries!

Then, went to attend Fion's hen's night cum bday celebration on National Day at downtown east chalet.
The lady host was very busy but we had a great time discussing tricks.
We even watched the fireworks on shears bridge on our way to the chalet.

 

Then, met up with ling, jk and sm gang on 10th to celebrate Jk's bday.

Had a great time exchanging gifts and catch-up during our lunch at Ding Tai Fung JP

 

met Tracy to shop for my pink dress for Fion's AD. She is really a great shopping buddy as she know what suits me!

then went for last minute shopping on 15th with AL to buy a pair of heels so that i can wear to Fion's wedding banquet.

 

Fion's AD was on 16th..

She look so stunningly beautiful in her white gown, red evening dress and cheongsums! How I wish I was as slim as her during my wedding!!

the sisters had a fun time making the groom and his brother perform dance along with Wondergirl's nobody music.

it was really shocking to see Adrian going all out of his way just to win his wife's over. haha

 

Their banquet was held at swissotel standford.. luckily everything proceeded quite smoothly.. :D

 

I am really happy that most of my good friends got married in the same year as me!

now that we have entered a new chapter of our life, I look forward to share our married life exp together. :D

Something happened yesterday which made me dunno want to laugh or cry.

 

Al told me on Tuesday night that he has a day off on Wednesday, so he could send me to work and then have breakfast together.

 

Normally, I leave my home at around 8 am so I can reach office by 9.

Since he was going to send me to work, I waited for him till 8:30 then we started making our way to my work place.

 

When we reached the void deck, I started heading in the direction of the carpark.

 

AL: Dear, where are you going?

 

me: To your car lor. why?

 

AL: huh? we are going to the mrt station . we can have breakfast at the kopitiam below the mrt station.

 

me: HUH!?? I thought you are going to DRIVE me to work? you mean you are just going to WALK me to the mrt station??!!!

 

AL: ya? can't you see that I don't have my car key with me? Dad is using the car today.

 

me: (*nearly fainted) wah laoooooo... why didn't you tell me earlier? or at least made it clear that you were going to WALK me to mrt station and not DRIVE me to work!!

I would have gone to the mrt by myself. And how on earth  would I know your daddy has taken your car??!

now I am VERY LATE already!

 

AL: aiyah nvm mah... your colleagues are always late anyway. let's just go to the mrt.

 

me: (zytr!$$%^&$%abc!!!)

 

OMG...  on normal circumstance like this, i'm sure 99.9% of the ppl will think that he was going to drive me to work.

on the way to the pioneer mrt station, I couldn't take it anymore.

 

me: I can't take this joke. i really cannot take this!!!

 

AL: huh then what do you want me to do?

 

me: (*Evil Grin) Take train to Dhoby Ghaut with me

 

AL: :O!!

 

wahhahahaa!! hiak hiak hiak hiak!!! and off we go on the 45 min mrt ride down to dhoby ghaut.

 

 

al was forced to take train with me to my work place, subsequently treated me to the BK breakfast hehhee.

 

I told this to one of my colleagues and he jokingly said that in IT terms, this means that my boy has totally misunderstood the user's requirements.

 

just wondering... Do I really understand my boy or it is just that he has different way of thinking than others?

Invited hs, ps & wl, oyc and zy over to my place on Sunday..

had fun playing wii, card games and zy gave a first practical lesson on mj hahaha..

stupid small fry threw out the  一索  thinking it is a flower tile.. it went unoticed until i threw out the 2nd same tile ! LOL

 

then hs tried to 碰 the 东tile, thinking she can collect one tile from east, south, west, north. LOL

 

I told them that i really missed our classmate fy.. because i used to hang out with her quite often back in sec3 and 4..

guess what!!? I think god granted my wish. I really met her on the train today and she even alighted at the same bus stop as me!!! what a co-incidence!!

small fry has been so tired these few months, totally no mood or energy to jot down any thoughts.

 

and hubby is flying off in a week's time.

AL hid 3 gifts at our new house and told me to find them out in 20 minutes time.

Just 10 minutes back  i thought i was hallucinating when i saw a very old lady with a very pale facing waving at me thru the gate.

 

A very very old lady from China (i think she is more than 80 yrs old) came to my doorstep to collect used newspaper.

 

She has been to my house many times but it is the first time she comes at midnight.

 

As usual my mum gave her a big stack for free , the old lady was  on the verge of crying. she said some ppl in the neighbourhood had reported her to the police (maybe due to her age) and she dare not come to collect in the afternoon..

 

We wanted to give her some $$ before but she didn't want it, so we could only donate the newspaper to her. haiz.

 

 

yay thanks to fion girl for the bday prezzie!  the packaging is so cool!!! haven't open yet cos 舍不得用！！

 

 

 

Jk and ling gang also gave me a set of sheseido shower cream and body lotion.. i gonna feel 滑溜溜, smell 香喷喷 the whole year round!!

AL is finally back from thailand. he bought me 6-7 Warcoal bra sets

I could imagine all the ladie staring at him while he was choosing the design in the shopping centre. LOL

Discussed with AL on when to move over to new house... he was fine with any date since we have moved most of our belongings over and it is very near his current home.. as for me i am not too willing to move at the moment since the MRT station will only be ready next year end january and i dread the long bus journey

 

Mummy is sick today so i prepared porriedge dinner, luncheon meat with egg, 炒豆芽.  豆苗 . ok lah my cooking is not that bad ok cos they finished everything.

Yo ppl! i'm back from my 2 days 1 night SPA Trip @ Batam Harris Resort with sis, Sushi, LL, vv and HL!

 

Trip was fun! Companions were great! Food was fantastic! SPA was relaxing! now my skin feel quite smoothe after all the scrubing haha.

 

one bad point about the SPA was they used solar energy to heat up their water supply.. but suay suay yesterday rained heavily for the whole day and the 6 of us had to endure the cold cold SPA bath! LOL

went to shop at jurong point with sys (seee i am having more and more typo nowadays.. perhaps thinking too much about work.. i had meant "sis" actually)

yesterday before heading to my new house.

 

AL waited for us a coffee bean and kill his time by reading comic books & playing his psp.

he couldn't believe that we took around 1 hour to travel 4 shop distances away ... there are simply too many temptations LOL ~!

 

well,, guess i am too stressed over work recently and need to resort to retail therapy so everything looks interesting to me.

 

then play a bit of wii with sis in the afternoon .. went over to parent in law's house to celebrate FIL's bday.

 

then headed back to new house again after dinner and continued to clean the house..we decided to stay overnight for the first time.

 

i felt so isolated from the outside world without any internet access over there... nothing much to do except watching tv.. and i have no interest in AL's whole shelf of comic books yet.

 

luckily the neighbourhood is quiet in the evening so didn't have much trouble falling asleep at night..

happy belated bday to sushi and lao gong!!

 

sighh.. was kinda angry with AL yesterday ... but had to suppress my anger becos it was his bday..

 

back to work again..

AL tried to call me at 5pm today for a short chat . He works 4am shift this week and was afraid that he might not have many chances to talk to me.

Read in MYpaper this morning that one of the problems that couples are facing nowadays is they do not spend enough time together.

 

i'm glad that AL calls me everyday no matter how busy he is at work.. well i'm guilty bcos i don't really take the initiative to call him.

okk... i'm still learning on how to be a good wife.. will try to focus on "US" because we are 1 item now. not just on me , me and me..

 

Heard some goodnews from yun and sushi and pending another good news from ling. :)

feel so happy for them.

 

this has nothing got to do with the local movie, just that small fry has decided to blog on 29th feb to make this a memoriable entry.

 

well, just some updates on how i've been over the past 2 months. gonna be a not so happy entry..

 

jan: busy with work .was pretty excited over new house. so keep flipping megazines and going to lib to do research.

 

feb: a very hectic month

Granny was hospitalised just a week before CNY.

mum had to spend so many nights over at the hospital just to take care of granny.

small fry and sis had spent the CNY eve in the ICU with granny.

so sad to see her struggling to say happy new year to us when we "bai nian" to her at 12am.

 

then on valentines day, AL fell sick and had high fever for 3 consecutive days..

small fry went over to his house and took leave to take care of him. so also didn't celebrate. 

sigh.. so disappointed that we always don't get to celebrate on the actual day. i dun blame him bcos he was sick lah... but then still... haiz.

 

may be starting reno in a few weeks time, depending on the "dong tu" date given by AL's mum's dua peh gong. somehow my excitement died down when AL's uncle quoted us 23k renovation price.

 

quite sian with work nowadays. esp when i knew those "shake leg ppl" in the team got promoted.. even more sian..

 

there's not too much change to my life after ROM.. we still only meet on Saturdays and sundays only. have complained so many times but we can do nothing. AL promised that he will go back to the normal working hour when he gets posted back to the original office.

 

my ring is so loose that it dropped twice in the office toilet, 3 days ago i had to dig into the dustbin because the ring dropped while i was wiping my hands dry..

i wonder if this is a bad sign for my marriage?

 

let's hope the days gets better..

Ok ok.. don't worry I'm not becoming a housewife yet..

 

Just that I am really bored to death staying at home.. having no one to go out with so I begin to observe what my mum usually does at home.

 

1. 7:00 am   ( yes sometimes i wake up this early or even earlier when I'm on leave )

     Mum wake up to make coffee for dad and prepare breakfast for sis before they set off for work

 

2. 7:30 am

    Tidy up the beds

 

3. 8:00 am
    Wash clothes, sweep floor, clean my rabbit's poo. (Paiseh sometimes I'm just too lazy :P)

 

4. 10:00 am

    Switch on radio and tune in to 97.2fm to listen to dong fang billy's program.

    I would say this DJ is just like her God and whatever he says she note it down and practice! Most of the time I ended up being her guinea pig to try out new dishes or new health products. 

    (I think almost 60% of chinese housewifes listen to his program. After listening to it for a few times.. I finally can understand why he is so popular among aunties..

   

5. 12:00pm

    Prepares light lunch. Since there is not many ppl at home just a simple bowl of noodle settles lunch.

 

6. 1:30 pm

    Starts flippin thru magazines, cook books and plan what dishes to cook for dinner..

 

7. 2:30 pm

    Keeps clothes that were hang outside, water plants..

 

8. 3:00 pm

    Call granny or aunties to chat (or gossip) on the phone.

 

9. 3:30 pm

    Go to super market to buy vege / meat for that day. Yes my mummy cooks with fresh ingredients and that's why i love her cooking so much!

 

10. 4:45 pm

    Start to cook dinner

 

11. 6-8:00 pm.

     our family memebers starts to come back home one by one. So each of us will just have the dinner if we are late.

     clean dishes

 

12. 8:00 pm

     Watch TV

 

13. 11:00 pm

     Sleep

 

SEe see see.. this is the life of a typical housewife.. wah liew i really pei fu my mum to repeat this cycle for so many years.. I would have gone mad sia..

 

But then again , it is also not easy being a housewife..u have to do planning, budgeting and resource allocation when u prepare for the dishs and go to market...

 

 

so proud of myself today again LOL. Helped mum to clean mirrors at home.. Don't ask me why but my house really has a lot of mirrors..(to make it look bigger ba)

i also cooked salad you tiao and crabsticks wrapped in ham for dinner..quite fun. :)

 

Yuan lai being a housewife can be fun sometimes hahaha.

And this is why I love Atashinchi anime so much!!!
